An exciting opportunity has opened up at a fast-growing fintech undergoing a major platform transformation who are looking for a Principal Performance Engineer to establish and scale a modern performance testing function. You'll have the autonomy to define strategy, build tooling, and create performance environments in a multi-cloud/on-prem architecture. This is a high-impact, highly visible role with influence across engineering, DevOps, and product teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading performance testing strategy and implementation across the stack
- Designing and managing dedicated performance test environments
- Building scalable, production-replica load scenarios
- Driving a shift-left performance culture across engineering
- Identifying bottlenecks, tuning infrastructure, and enabling high availability
- Advising senior stakeholders on system health and performance risks
You’ll need to bring:
- 8+ years of performance testing experience in enterprise environments
- 5+ years in a lead or principal role within quality engineering
- Strong hands-on expertise with platforms: JMeter, BlazeMeter and Cloudflare, etc.
- Proven experience testing APIs, web applications, and databases: i.e PostgreSQL, Oracle and MSSQL.
- Experience designing performance test environments and load generation tools
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and performance SLAs
