My client is a pioneering advanced manufacturing company with a focus on large-scale, complex metal structures. They are looking for a mechanical design engineer to work on high-quality products, robotics and automation equipment to energy, marine, and defence industries.
Role Summary
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will play a critical role in the development and enhancement of cutting-edge products and systems. You will work on the integration of robotic systems and drive the improvement of our existing solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement new products tailored to client requirements. You should bring an in-depth understanding of system-level mechanical design, an appreciation of electrical engineering, and a strong background in SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities
- System-Level Design: Develop and optimize complex mechanical systems and assemblies, including robotic integration
- Product Development: Design, test, and iterate on new product features, components, and solutions based on customer specifications and feedback.
- Existing Product Improvement: Refine and enhance current products and manufacturing processes to meet evolving client needs.
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications using SolidWorks.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Utilize your experience in sheet metal fabrication to design components with manufacturability in mind.
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the fabrication and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts.
Role Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on system-level design.
- Technical Skills: Advanced expertise in SolidWorks and familiarity with CAD design and drawings.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
