We are partnered exclusively with a stealth-mode, seed-funded fintech building critical security infrastructure for the financial industry. This is their first dedicated security hire - a ground-floor opportunity to own the entire function, work directly with the founding team, and shape how security is built from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Configuring, encrypting and managing all company devices to security baselines — MDM setup and ongoing management
  • Assessing and validating the security posture of client-side setups and integrations
  • Managing user access, permissions and authentication standards across internal systems
  • Monitoring and hardening security configurations across cloud infrastructure
  • Acting as first responder to security events - building and maintaining an incident response playbook
  • Supporting the company's journey toward SOC 2 Type II compliance - liaising with auditors and maintaining evidence
  • Educating the broader team on security hygiene, phishing risks and best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-4 years in an IT security, security operations or IT support role with a strong security focus
  • Practical experience with endpoint management and MDM tools (Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of cloud platform security (AWS, GCP or similar)
  • Understanding of identity and access management - SSO and MFA enforcement experience
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 control frameworks, or genuine enthusiasm to get up to speed quickly
  • Strong communicator - able to translate security requirements into plain language for non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-starter mentality - comfortable owning a function without a large team around you

Bonus Points

  • Experience in fintech, financial services or another regulated industry
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SC-900 or similar
  • Prior startup experience - you understand pragmatic, risk-based security over bureaucracy
