Part of LSL Property Services plc, PRIMIS Mortgage Network are the largest Mortgage and Protection Network in the UK with some 1000 firms as business partners and circa 3000 advisors working alongside us. The Financial Services division also includes TMA (Mortgage Club) and Linear Financial Solutions.
We are keen to recruit a highly experienced and driven Senior Mortgage Industry professional to head our owned PRIMIS Appointed Representative (AR) business named Linear Financial Solutions. Linear FS currently have a team of operational professionals supporting over 100 Mortgage and Protection advisors. We are now keen to further develop and grow on the success of the Linear business to become a major contributor to the success of the LSL FS division.
What the role entails:
- Fulfil FCA CF1 responsibilities, ensuring regulatory and governance compliance and accountability to Compliance and second line oversight.
- Day to day management of the business, delivering performance in line with agreed financial, operational, and strategic objectives.
- Ownership and management of financial performance, including budget delivery, revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
- Retaining and further developing introducers.
- Build, lead, develop and inspire a high-performing adviser and management team aligned to Linear’s culture and standards.
- Deliver effective first line supervision through oversight of T&C scheme operation, adviser competency, CAS status, and supervisory activity.
- Drive growth of composite advice and improved customer outcomes across the adviser population.
- Oversight and growth of Linear Wealth and the popular Linear trainee advisor academy.
Knowledge and Expertise required:
- Experience of managing and delivering against a significant budget, including financial control, reporting and commercial decision making.
- Experience of working within the Mortgage intermediary sector.
- Outstanding understanding of mortgage and protection markets, including distribution models, adviser behaviours, and customer journeys.
- Extensive knowledge of FCA regulation, including Consumer Duty and MMR, with the ability to apply this within mortgage and protection distribution and supervisory frameworks.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and overseeing first line supervision, including adviser competency, T&C frameworks, and risk-based oversight.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance growth objectives with risk and regulatory considerations.
- Ability to inspire, delegate and structure teams effectively to deliver business and regulatory outcomes.
- Full CeMAP or equivalent qualification.
Salary and Benefits: Strong Base Salary plus bonus. Benefits include – Healthcare, Enhanced Pension, and various share-based incentives when available. The role is home based (UK) with National Travel required on an ad hoc basis.
