Primer is the unified infrastructure for global payments. We give finance and payments teams the visibility and control to reduce complexity, improve performance, and capture more revenue - all from a single platform.
The Chief of Staff sits at the center of the CEO office, working day-to-day with the CEO, COO, CFO, and CTO. This is one of the highest-leverage roles at Primer.
The job has two dimensions:
- CEO office leverage: Step in for the CEO, COO, and CFO on projects and workstreams that need senior ownership but not their direct time. Own the follow-through on exec team decisions, run special projects end-to-end, and write materials that represent Primer to strategic audiences.
- Company operating rhythm: Own the cadence of the business, work with the COO to drive OKR setting, and keep the full executive team well-informed on what is happening inside the company.
What we’d love to see:
- 4 to 5 years of experience in a high-performance environment: strategy consulting, investment banking, or a fast-moving tech company.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure where none exists.
- Strong analytical instincts.
- Organized and reliable.
- Discretion and judgment when handling sensitive matters.
- A genuine interest in Primer's mission and the payments infrastructure space.
- Proficient in AI tools and their practical application.
Nice to have:
- Experience in B2B SaaS or fintech.
- Familiarity with payments, PSPs, or financial infrastructure.
- Prior experience in a startup at Series B or beyond.
You may not like it here if:
- You enjoy working in an office-setting; we are remote-first.
- You are not comfortable with shifting context and navigating ambiguity.
A typical interview process includes an initial intro call, an interview with the Hiring Manager, a challenge stage contextualised to the role, and a final values-alignment interview.
We’re building a culture where people can come and do their best work and enjoy it. We work remotely and invest in our relationships through great remote working practices.
