You will be responsible for all aspects of strategy, policy, and operational delivery at Manchester Airport for PrimeFlight UK. Particular focus on exceptional safety and strong customer service performance through careful and motivating management of staff. Ensure that KPIs are delivered through effective and efficient utilisation of facilities, services and staff resources. Support the growth of the business through continued professional development of a trained workforce, and identify areas for improvement and growth. Drive business change and development through effective motivation of other business leaders, and hold such leaders accountable for various projects and KPIs.
Work with central finance and commercial teams to set, monitor and adhere to financial and labour budgets. Identify trends, remain accountable for such budgets and KPIs and strictly control costs. Provide answers to senior managers and directors regarding deviations in trends and budgets, and implement measures to mitigate adverse results. Maintain overall responsibility for compliance with government legislation and regulations, as well as Primeflight Group policies and procedures.
Role Responsibilities:
- Planning, organising and directing operational activities at Manchester Airport.
- Primary responsibility for staff performance and adherence to Safety Management System.
- Maintain relationships with all customers and ensure proactive communication and problem solving to prioritise customer needs above all else.
- Foster and build relationships with other airport stakeholders (including suppliers) and seek opportunities for new business.
- Ensure that all procedures and processes are maintained in line with current legislation and internal policies.
- Ensure that all audit findings both internal and external are addressed within the agreed timescales.
- Conduct Safety tours/inspections/audits as required.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and investigated as per company policy.
- Ultimate accountability for any breaches in regulatory frameworks applicable to the operation.
- Drive high levels of performance and service for all customers.
- Meet expected objectives in regard to productivity, cost control, profit, business growth and others.
- Responsible for the delivery of SLAs, including overall punctuality and quality of service whilst assessing processes and systems to implement improvements.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, governance, and acceptance of new business or projects to ensure efficient allocation of capital and excellence in implementation.
- Improve business operating cost and operating efficiency.
- Improve passenger experience and airside services.
- Drive adaptation of best practices.
- Drive safety performance improvements.
- Provide full support to the Regional Manager in meeting annual goals and remain accountable for such goals at Manchester Airport (including with relation to finance, labour utilisation, customer scores and business improvement).
- Ensure the delivery of the operational resource plan, including maintaining ownership and control over the rosters and GSE allocation.
- Ensure the day to day running of the services are delivered to cost, scope, and time objectives.
- Provide vision, leadership and line management for PrimeFlight staff.
- Create and maintain regular and effective communication channels to staff, including the hosting of regular town hall meetings.
- Ensure that all staff are trained and maintain competence to carry out their role and tasks, and maintain accountability.
- Build, develop, and manage a talent pipeline for the business, including ensuring: sufficient leadership resilience; ample recruitment to proactively fill vacant positions; and effective adjustments to recruitment plans based on fluctuations in business demand and budgets.
- Ensure that all plant and equipment is serviced, maintained and fit for purpose.
- Monitor and manage all third party contractors and their activities where relevant.
- Liaise with the airport authority to ensure compliance with all regulations and ensure PrimeFlight is a respected provider.
- Maintain exceptional relationships with the airport authority.

- Extensive Human Resources and Industrial Relations experience.
- Extensive experience managing and driving customer relationships.
- Sound understanding of project management/business growth and development.
- Experience working with and analysing Profit and Loss statements.
- Conducting internal audits.
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to interpret and understand data.
- Strong data analysis skills and financial acumen.
- High level of business awareness.
- To have undertaken a formal managerial training programme.
- A recognised and relevant Safety Management System and/or HSE qualification.
- Tertiary certification/qualification.
- Project Management, Accounting or other Financial qualifications.
- Strong understanding working with Standard Ground Handling Agreements (SGHAs) and other contractual documents.
- Experience working in financial/commercial teams with a working knowledge of financial statements.
- Experience reading/writing formal legal documents.
- Experience in sales/commercial development, including procuring additional business.
