PrimeFlight Cargo is expanding its airside transport team at London Heathrow Airport and is looking for professional HGV Class 1 drivers who want a stable, well‑paid role in a secure aviation environment. This is an opportunity to step into a specialist driving role—operating airside, working directly with aircraft, and becoming part of a highly regulated, safety‑critical operation.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Driver will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern as part of a team on a rotating shift pattern reporting to the Cargo Coordinator.
  • Delivering and collecting airfreight directly to and from aircraft.
  • Operating Class 1 vehicles in an airside environment at Heathrow.
  • Working to strict aviation, security, and road transport standards.
  • Ensuring loads are secure, paperwork is accurate, and procedures are followed.
  • Representing PrimeFlight professionally at one of the world’s busiest airports.
  • Drivers report to the cargo coordinator to receive work at their start time either 6am or 7am.
  • Generally, drivers will service our 2 Japanese carriers Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airlines remaining customer focused and diligent in order to meet the fast‑paced environment of Heathrow Airport.
  • Driver will remain in contact with the cargo coordinator to receive further work when flight loading has taken place, this includes mail deliveries for Royal Mail Group and any transshipments that the coordinator has allocated.
  • To ensure all vehicles are inspected as per DVSA guidelines before use and to report faults to the Cargo Coordinator or Transport Manager using the defect report process.
  • Carry out minor repairs if necessary to prevent delays and VOR days to the vehicles on the fleet.
  • Ensure all tachograph and Working Time Directive rules are adhered to in accordance with current legislation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Transport Manager or Cargo Coordinator.

What we’re looking for:

  • Full UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
  • Ability to pass a 5-year background check (employment).
