We are looking for a proactive, commercially aware, and relationship-driven Junior Business Development Executive to support employer partnerships and hiring outcomes across our funded programmes. This role is focused on building and managing employer relationships that lead to interviews, work opportunities, placements, and hiring outcomes for learners across IT Support, Cloud, Data, Cyber Security, Software, and related digital pathways. This is a 6-month project-based role and is ideal for someone with experience in employer engagement, business development, recruitment, outreach, or workforce development, particularly in training, employability, or funded programme environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with employers who can offer interviews, placements, work experience, apprenticeships, or entry-level hiring opportunities.
  • Develop a pipeline of employer partners across relevant sectors and regions.
  • Conduct structured outreach through LinkedIn, email, calls, networking, and referrals.
  • Identify hiring demand and align employer needs with learner profiles and programme outputs.
  • Work closely with internal teams to convert employer conversations into measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain strong follow-up discipline across all employer accounts and opportunities.
  • Capture employer activity, outreach, conversations, and outcomes accurately within CRM or tracking systems.
  • Support repeatable employer engagement approaches that can be scaled across multiple programmes.
  • Gather market insight from employer conversations to strengthen programme positioning and learner readiness.
  • Contribute to interview pipelines, placement activity, and outcome reporting.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence in cold outreach, follow-up, and opportunity conversion.
  • Experience managing pipelines, leads, accounts, or employer relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain activity across multiple workstreams.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, Excel, Microsoft Office, or similar tracking tools.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK when required.
  • Experience in employability, apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, workforce development, or funded training provision.
  • Experience working with employers hiring entry-level digital or tech talent.
  • Understanding of placement, interview, or employment outcome-driven environments.
  • Experience working with local employers, referral networks, or regional partnership ecosystems.
