Primech Building Services is seeking an experienced Electrically Biased Project Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of school refurbishment projects. The role will take responsibility for day-to-day site management across works including full electrical rewires, suspended grid ceilings, fire alarm system replacements and associated making good and decorating works. You will ensure all activities are delivered safely, to programme and to Primech's quality standards, while maintaining clear communication between site operatives, the client and the wider Primech project team. The Supervisor will coordinate trades, control site operations, manage documentation and proactively resolve issues to ensure minimal disruption within live school environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations including attendance, inductions and RAMS compliance.
- Maintain Primech's high standards of site safety, PPE, welfare and housekeeping.
- Oversee site set-up, protection, security and lock-up procedures.
- Ensure all site paperwork, H&S records and registers are maintained accurately and up to date.
- Monitor progress, identify risks and ensure works remain on programme.
- Produce concise daily site updates with photographs and progress notes.
- Prepare weekly progress reports and drawing mark-ups.
- Deliver weekly toolbox talks and promote a strong health & safety culture.
- Liaise with clients and Primech's project team to resolve site issues efficiently.
- Manage QA, testing, commissioning and sign-off processes.
- Control plant, materials and deliveries in coordination with procurement to prevent delays.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
- Electrical Technical City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (or equivalent EAL/2365/2357).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (C&G or equivalent).
- Site Supervision / Management SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTS (minimum).
- Health & Safety CSCS Black Manager Card or Gold Supervisor Card (minimum).
- IOSH Managing Safely (desirable).
Education Sector Requirements
- Enhanced DBS (or ability to obtain).
- First Aid at Work.
- Asbestos Awareness.
Non-Negotiables
- Must be flexible and willing to work evenings and nights.
- Typical working pattern: 16:00–01:00 or 12-hour night shifts, as projects are delivered predominantly out of hours in live school environments.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- C&G 2391 or 2394/2395 – Inspection & Testing.
- PASMA or IPAF.
- Level 4 Qualification in Construction Site Supervision.
Experience Required
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience supervising electrical works in refurbishment or occupied buildings.
- Education or public sector experience is highly advantageous.
Working Hours & Contract
- Term Time: 16:00 – 01:00 (5 days) or 12-hour nights (4 days).
- School Holidays: 07:30 – 16:30.
- Contract type: Project-based / Permanent (TBC).
