Responsibilities
- Develop the technical mechanical design of assigned projects through to Stage 4/5, ensuring designs meet Primech standards and agreed timescales.
- Handle educational, commercial, mixed‑use and residential projects.
- Work primarily under the Design Manager, producing high‑quality designs prior to internal review.
- Initial review of design contracts & qualifications (Stage 4/5 requirements, required technical reports, exclusions).
- Produce MEP designs, calculations and specifications using relevant software.
- Monitor drawing production to meet timescales and QA for technical accuracy & consistency.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including equipment schedules, energy‑modelling reports, etc.
- Coordinate with internal Project Team, external Client Team & Senior Management to ensure smooth delivery of design, incorporating client requirements and attending necessary meetings.
- Issue and respond to design‑related RFI’s.
- Undertake initial design site surveys, including use of Lidar scan to capture relevant information for CAD engineer and design team.
- Produce energy‑modelling assessments and presentations as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience in Building Services industry.
- Technical understanding of electrical discipline.
- Experience with design software such as Revit, Hevacomp, AutoCAD.
- Passion/interest in low‑carbon and energy‑efficient designs.
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations and accredited services.
- Ability to plan & prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel/Word & Outlook).
- Self‑management of time and multitasking across projects.
- Professional client communication skills.
- Full UK driver’s licence.
