Primech Building Services is a growing mechanical services contractor delivering high-quality projects across the Education and Commercial sectors. Due to continued project wins, we are looking for experienced Plumbers / Pipefitters to join our Projects Team.
The Role
As a Plumber / Pipefitter, you will be part of Projects - Team 1, working on a range of commercial and education projects across the South East. The role involves the installation of mechanical services to a high standard, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install LTHW, domestic hot and cold water, and drainage pipework
- Work with materials including copper, carbon steel, and stainless steel
- Use jointing methods such as press-fit, screwed, and welded systems
- Install distribution pipework, plantroom equipment, sanitaryware, fixtures, radiators, and FCUs
- Carry out pressure testing in line with relevant standards and site procedures
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and method statements
- Ensure installation works are completed in line with the agreed programme
- Work safely at all times, complying with Health & Safety regulations, RAMS, permits to work, and site rules
- Liaise with supervisors, other trades, and contractors to coordinate works and resolve site issues
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Plumbing & Heating
- Time-served apprenticeship in plumbing or pipefitting (commercial or industrial)
- Valid CSCS or JIB-PMES card
- At least 5 years' experience working on commercial or education projects
- Health & Safety training (e.g. CITB H&S Awareness or equivalent)
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working at Height and Manual Handling training
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to work out of hours when required
Non-Negotiables
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating
- Valid CSCS card
- Flexibility to work out of hours (OOH) when project requirements demand
Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Gas Safe or Water Regulations qualifications
- IPAF and/or PASMA
- First Aid certification
- MET Pass

- Typical shifts may include 07:30 - 16:30 or 16:00 - 02:00 depending on project needs
