This role is about more than support - it's about understanding, patience and helping individuals thrive in a way that works for them. Primecare Health Ltd is recruiting Autism Practitioners to provide specialist, person-centred support to individuals on the autism spectrum across Edinburgh and West Lothian. In this role, you'll deliver structured, autism-informed support that reflects each individual's communication style, sensory needs and personal goals. You'll help create safe, supportive environments that reduce anxiety, promote independence and encourage meaningful engagement at home and in the community. Building trust and positive relationships is central to this role.
What You'll Do
- Deliver personalised autism support in line with individual support plans
- Support daily routines and structured activities that promote confidence and wellbeing
- Adapt communication methods to suit individual preferences and needs
- Support access to education, employment, leisure and community activities
- Encourage independence, choice and self-advocacy
- Work collaboratively with families, colleagues and other professionals
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and support planning
Who We're Looking For
- Calm, patient and genuinely committed to supporting individuals with autism
- Compassionate, understanding and respectful
- Comfortable supporting individuals with varying levels of need
- Able to work in a structured and consistent way
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
- Previous experience supporting individuals with autism is desirable, but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
