Prime Workforce Solutions (PWS) are currently recruiting experienced Groundworkers on behalf of a well-established Civil Engineering contractor. Candidates will meet at HQ in Blantyre and travel together, down to site in Carlisle. This role is based out of their yard in Blantyre, Lanarkshire, with travel required to site in Carlisle each day. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, skilled operatives seeking steady work through to the end of June / beginning of July — with the potential for extension. It includes 10hrs of pay each day, 0630 to 1630.
The Role
You will be working as part of a civil engineering team delivering infrastructure and groundwork packages. Duties will include:
- Concrete works (including pouring, finishing, and associated groundwork)
- Cabling and troughing
- Excavation and digging
- Laying paving and kerbing
- Tarmac works
- General site groundwork duties as required
Location & Travel
- Daily travel to site in Carlisle
- Departure approximately 06:30am each morning
- Return to the yard from site each day, typically arriving back around 16:30
- Candidates will be paid for 10 hours per day, Monday to Friday with Saturday Nightshift Optional
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday – Dayshift
- Paid 10 hours per day
- Optional Saturday nightshift available (not mandatory)
Requirements
- Valid CSCS Card (desirable)
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) certificate (required for rail-related works)
- CPCS (desirable but not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence (mandatory)
- Previous experience in civil engineering groundwork
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong awareness of health & safety on site
