The Opportunity
Prime Workforce, on behalf of BEAR Scotland, is seeking a reliable and motivated Highway Maintenance Operative with HGV License to join their team. Based in either the North-East or South-East regions of Scotland, this role offers the chance to play an integral part in maintaining Scotland's highways and infrastructure, while ensuring the safety and quality of the roads used by millions daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Road Maintenance Operations: Assist with various highway maintenance tasks, including repairs, upgrades, and emergency works, ensuring the work is carried out to high safety and quality standards.
- Driving HGVs: Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) to transport materials, equipment, and machinery to and from worksites. Ensure vehicles are safely loaded, unloaded, and maintained.
- Supporting Team Activities: Work alongside a team of maintenance operatives to perform routine tasks such as road repairs, drainage work, and the maintenance of highways, signage, and road markings.
- Ensuring Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures on all work sites, maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
- Equipment Handling: Use and maintain various tools, machinery, and equipment required for road maintenance tasks, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work activities, equipment usage, and any incidents or issues that arise during operations.
- Responding to Emergency Repairs: Assist with emergency road maintenance operations, including accident recovery and road clearance when required.
Skills and Experience
