Overview
Director, Software Development, Prime Video Living Room Organization. Lead the engineering teams that develop and own the Prime Video Living Room app installed on 1.5+ Billion Living Room devices and used by hundreds of millions of customers worldwide. Partner with Product and UX to refine and execute the Living Room strategy and define long-term plans spanning multiple years. Provide hands-on engineering guidance across the organization to help teams succeed and invent on behalf of customers.
Responsibilities
- Identify areas of investment to move the organization faster and invent on behalf of customers.
- Manage without line-of-sight by delegating and establishing mechanisms to get the right information at the right time; define and review metrics indicating customer experience, business performance, and operational effectiveness.
- Dive deeply across all areas of the organization to identify blind spots and drive root-cause improvements that enhance the Prime Video mobile app customer experience.
- Empower and grow other technical leaders by developing others, creating guardrails for independent decision making, providing ownership through delegation, and encouraging fast delivery without burnout.
Basic Qualifications
- Track record of defining and delivering product vision in the streaming services technology sector.
- Educational background in Engineering or a quantitative subject area.
- Highly numerate with a data-driven approach.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically while staying close to details and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of streaming services technology across different verticals and media.
- Experience leading large teams that include technical product management and software design.
- Experience launching and upgrading smart-home device products.
- Experience operating in complex international/global organizations.
- Past responsibility as a senior engineering leader for teams larger than 100 individuals.
