Proximity Developer / Lead (Perm & Contract)

We have permanent and contract opportunities with our client, a Leading Financial Institution based in the City within their Front Office Development Teams.

Permanent – Lead Developer – Proximity Development/Front Office Focus

A hands-on development leadership role, managing a small proximity development team that delivers tailored software solutions for commodities trading and front office users. This role combines people management, stakeholder communication, and direct development across pricing, risk, and reporting tools.

🔹 Responsibilities

• Act as the key interface between business users and development team.
• Lead the team in delivering tools to support trading, risk, and operations.
• Manage delivery pipeline, business prioritization, and technical planning.
• Develop solutions across pricing, market data contributions, and risk reporting.
• Collaborate with global teams, align with Head Office on process and governance.
• Oversee BAU support and manage rota coverage for trading hours.

🔹 Tech Stack

• .NET (C#, .Net Core, WPF), Entity Framework
• Angular / AngularJS
• SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB
• Bloomberg API, RMDS, Eikon
• Microservices, Visual Studio, JetBrains Rider

🔹 Key Skills

• 10+ years in development, including 2–3 years in a lead role
• Strong front office exposure, ideally within commodities or derivatives trading
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Agile experience: sprints, Kanban, DevOps tools
• Experience with onboarding trading products and integrating pricing tools

🔹 Environment

• Hybrid setup (minimum 3 days in office)
• Shift flexibility: early starts or late finishes (7:30am–7:30pm)
• Collaborative, business-aligned team
• Strong focus on stability, risk mitigation, and delivery

Contract – Front Office Application Developer

Join a Front Office-aligned technology team supporting Global Markets, Commodities and Structured Credit. You\’ll deliver custom tools for traders, sales, and structurers in a fast-paced, business-driven environment.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support bespoke front office applications.
• Work closely with traders and stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Maintain and enhance existing tools.
• Integrate pricing libraries and support onboarding of new products.
• Recommend tech solutions and contribute to architecture.

🔹 Required Skills

• Strong OO programming background.
• Experience in front-office or trading systems.
• Solid understanding of derivatives, risk (Greeks), and curve construction.
• Hands-on knowledge of options theory and volatility surfaces.

🔹 Preferred Tech

• .NET, C#, WPF, Angular
• Familiar with frameworks (Unity, Prism, etc.)
• Commodities or interest rate products knowledge a plus

🔹 Environment

• Hybrid setup (minimum 3 days in office)
