To supervise front-of-house operations at the Zoo, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service and the smooth, efficient running of daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train and support staff, including rota management.
  • Oversee shop, reception, admissions and customer bookings.
  • Handle customer complaints, enquiries and front-desk activities.
  • Manage cash handling procedures and stock control.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards, including procurement tasks.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures when required.

Visitor Services

  • Enhance and monitor the customer experience, responding to feedback appropriately.
  • Process bookings for memberships, adoptions and visitor experiences.
  • Maintain and update public displays and visitor information points.

Retail Services

  • Manage stock levels effectively.
  • Carry out stocktakes and inventories.

General Skills and Responsibilities

  • Promote teamwork and adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of customer care at all times.
