We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Casual Recreation Assistants on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, customer-focused environment, supporting the smooth operation of leisure facilities and delivering a high standard of service to customers.

Number of Positions Available: 5

Location: 1 11 Old Dundonald Road, Dundonald, Belfast, Lisburn and Castlereagh, BT16 1XT, United Kingdom

Rate PAY: £13.69 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service to all patrons.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility.
  • Assisting with the delivery of centre programmes, including ice stewarding, skate grinding, bowling customer service, and Indiana Land duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and reporting defects or risks to supervisors.
  • Handling, erecting, and dismantling sports and activity equipment to ensure safe use.
  • Completing relevant checks and records such as cleaning logs and incident reports.
  • Assisting with the supervision of customers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Responding to accidents and providing first aid when required.
  • Supporting new staff and temporary work placement students during induction.
  • Undertaking reception and control clerk duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a wet or dry facility such as a leisure centre, recreation centre, or sports club.
  • Previous experience dealing with members of the public.
  • Awareness of child protection and safeguarding of vulnerable adults.
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours on a rota basis, with the ability to work additional hours as required.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Preparing and maintaining activity areas for customer use.
  • Ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • Interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Monitoring and enforcing health and safety regulations.
  • Assisting with activities and programmes delivered at the facility.
  • Responding to emergencies and providing first aid when required.
