This post involves a mix of enforcement, education, supervision, and strategic planning to keep our communities safe and healthy.Key Responsibilities ️ Food Safety Manage inspections, food hygiene ratings & complaints
Oversee sampling and infectious disease investigations
Approve food premises and support the fishing industry
???? Health & Safety at Work Lead on accident investigations and workplace complaints
Coordinate educational and enforcement programmes
Oversee caravan site and sports ground safety
️ Consumer Protection Implement inspection and complaint response systems
Deliver safety campaigns in partnership with external agencies
Tobacco Control Enforce compliance with tobacco laws
Maintain the Tobacco Register and carry out prosecutions
Service & Performance Drive service improvements and ensure statutory compliance
Manage budgets, funding applications, and audit returns
Lead team development, appraisals, and disciplinary processes
Leadership & Engagement Liaise with Council departments, Elected Members, and partners
Prepare reports, court documentation, and attend hearings
Promote equality, good governance, and community engagement
