Overview
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Cemetery Operative to support the day-to-day operations of a busy cemetery service in Castlereagh. The successful candidate will assist with burial services, cemetery maintenance, and providing support to members of the public during sensitive occasions. This role requires someone who can work respectfully in a sensitive environment while maintaining high standards of grounds maintenance and customer care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and delivery of funeral and burial services with professionalism and respect.
- Operate cremation equipment and assist with chapel services, including music coordination where required.
- Undertake grave digging and prepare graves for burial services.
- Carry out cemetery maintenance including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and general horticultural duties.
- Inspect and monitor headstones for safety and report or address any issues.
- Provide assistance to visitors and guide them as needed.
