Location: Newry Leisure Centre, 60 Cecil Street, Newry, BT35 6AU

Pay: £14.52 per hour (PAYE)

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00am start)

Contract: Temporary (20 weeks)

Start Date: August 2026

Join our Leisure Team! Are you an organised administrator with excellent customer service skills? Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? If so, we'd love to hear from you. We are seeking a proactive Administrative Assistant to support our Leisure & Sport team at Newry Leisure Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering efficient administrative support that helps our leisure services run smoothly for the local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing reception and providing a welcoming first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries.
  • Maintaining records, databases and filing systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Supporting financial administration, including invoice processing, cash handling and financial record management.
  • Managing booking systems, diaries and meeting arrangements.
  • Preparing correspondence, reports, presentations and meeting minutes.
  • Assisting with records management and producing reports and statistics.
  • Providing administrative support to both the indoor and outdoor Leisure teams.
  • Assisting with marketing materials, newsletters and communications.
  • Ordering office supplies and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

What we're looking for

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and computerised database systems.
  • An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills.
  • Able to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.
  • A positive team player who enjoys supporting colleagues and delivering high-quality service.

Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role is essential, and experience within a busy customer-facing environment would be an advantage.

Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Basic Access NI clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Relevant administrative experience.
  • Strong IT and organisational skills.
