Hours: 37 per week

Main Purpose
Enforce litter and waste legislation, support awareness programmes, and ensure duties are completed to set time and quality standards.

Key Duties

• Patrol public areas, detect offences, issue fixed penalty notices, and attend court if required.

• Liaise with PSNI, Environmental Health Officers, and other partners.

• Identify litter hotspots, graffiti, and fly-posting.

• Monitor commercial waste and advise businesses on compliance.

• Promote anti-litter campaigns and assist with public education.

• Maintain records, prepare reports, and use IT/communications equipment.

• Support training of new staff and follow all health & safety procedures.

Essential Criteria

• 5 GCSEs (AC) including English, or equivalent.

• At least 2 years relevant experience in:

  • Public interaction in an enforcement/legislative role.

  • Administrative work including reports and record keeping.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to deal with the public, including confrontational situations.

• Teamwork, decision-making, and knowledge of litter/waste legislation.
