Project Officer (Fabric) to join a busy Property Maintenance team in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for an
Architectural Technologist, Construction professional or built-environment specialist to take ownership of a varied portfolio of refurbishment, maintenance and improvement projects.
You'll manage projects from initial design and procurement through to delivery and completion , working alongside consultants, contractors, engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required standards.
About the Role
As Project Officer (Fabric), you will provide professional and technical expertise across architectural design, project management, procurement and property delivery.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing multiple refurbishment and bespoke projects from inception to completion.
- Providing architectural design services and preparing detailed design and procurement packages.
- Producing and maintaining architectural drawings and specifications using CAD.
- Managing projects in accordance with the
RIBA Plan of Work and relevant project management methodologies.
- Developing design briefs and procuring, appointing and managing external consultants.
- Preparing contract specifications, tender and quotation documentation.
- Carrying out site visits, inspections and condition assessments.
- Managing project programmes, budgets, resources, risks and design changes.
- Working with Quantity Surveyors to assess contractor claims and support final accounts.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, statutory requirements, health and safety requirements and codes of practice.
- Undertaking
Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM Regulations where required.
- Supporting planned maintenance programmes and fabric condition surveys.
- Providing professional and technical advice on property-related matters.
- Working collaboratively with contractors, consultants, engineers, statutory bodies, utility providers and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting BIM, information management and quality assurance systems.
- Preparing reports and accurate project information for senior management.
- Contributing to service improvement and innovative approaches to design and project delivery.
What We're Looking For
You'll need
- A relevant third-level qualification in
Architectural Technology, Construction Engineering & Management, Construction and the Built Environment , or an equivalent discipline.
- At least
2 years' relevant experience in
- Delivering a full architectural design service and preparing complete design packages.
- Using CAD applications.
- Project managing architectural projects in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work.
- Procuring, appointing and managing consultancy services, or providing consultancy services.
- A full, current driving licence enabling you to drive in Northern Ireland, or access to suitable transport to meet the requirements of the role.
