Prime Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to support the Building Control team within Environmental Services. This is a temporary full‑time role based at the Civic Centre in Lisburn, providing essential administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth running of the Building Control service.
The Role
As Administrative Assistant, you will support the Building Control team with a range of administrative duties, including handling enquiries, maintaining records, processing documents, updating systems and supporting officers with day‑to‑day service delivery. This role would suit someone who is organised, confident using IT systems and able to work accurately in a busy office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling telephone, email and face‑to‑face enquiries in a professional manner
- Providing general administrative and clerical support to the Building Control team
- Updating databases, spreadsheets and internal systems accurately
- Maintaining records, files and documentation
- Processing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Arranging appointments, meetings and inspections where required
- Supporting Building Control officers with day‑to‑day administration
- Preparing reports, letters, documents and other information as needed
- Liaising with internal departments, external contacts and members of the public
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within required timescales
- Handling confidential information appropriately
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous administrative or clerical experience
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- A professional and helpful approach when dealing with the public
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
- A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
