Company Description

Prime Property Surveyors Ltd specialises in residential surveying services, including RICS Level 2 Home Surveys, RICS Level 3 Building Surveys and residential valuations.

We are a growing independent surveying practice focused on providing clear, detailed and practical advice to our clients. We combine professional surveying standards with modern technology, including drone inspections and mobile surveying/report‑writing software, to deliver a high-quality service to homebuyers, homeowners and lenders.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Residential Surveyor to join our team.

The Role

This is a full‑time Residential Surveyor position based in Newcastle upon Tyne, covering properties across the North East. The role offers hybrid working, combining property inspections with report writing from home.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking RICS Level 2 Home Surveys and Level 3 Building Surveys.
• Completing residential valuations where appropriately qualified and experienced.
• Inspecting a wide range of residential properties and identifying defects, risks and maintenance requirements.
• Providing clear diagnosis and practical recommendations within reports.
• Using drone technology, where appropriate, to assist with roof and other high‑level inspections.
• Preparing clear, accurate reports within agreed timescales.
• Liaising directly with clients to discuss survey findings and provide professional guidance.
• Managing your own diary and workload effectively.
• Working in accordance with RICS standards and relevant professional requirements.

Salary & Package

The employed position offers a salary of £40,000–£50,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

All necessary surveying equipment is provided, including:

• Company drone equipment for suitable inspections.
• iPad for mobile survey recording and report preparation.
• Mobile surveying and report‑writing software.
• Moisture meters and other surveying equipment required for inspections.
• Full administrative and office support.

We are particularly interested in using technology to make inspections and report writing as efficient as possible while maintaining the quality and detail of our reports.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for someone with:

• A relevant professional surveying qualification, ideally RICS-accredited.
• Experience undertaking residential building surveys and/or valuations.
• Good technical knowledge of residential construction, building pathology and common property defects.
• Familiarity with RICS Level 2 and Level 3 survey requirements.
• The ability to produce clear, accurate and well‑structured reports.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss findings directly with clients.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills.
• The ability to manage a field‑based workload independently.
• Competence using digital surveying and report‑writing technology.
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the local area.
• A commitment to professional standards, ethics and ongoing development.

Self‑Employed Surveyors

We would also be interested in speaking with experienced surveyors who would prefer to work with us on a self‑employed/consultancy basis.
