We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader (Night shift) on behalf of our client in Didcot, Oxfordshire to oversee daily operational activities within their organisation.
Working closely with the Operations Management team, the Team Leader will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of an operational team, managing workflows, allocating resources, and ensuring excellent service delivery to both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team to ensure all duties are completed in line with operational targets, organisational objectives, and KPIs.
- Manage daily workflows, prioritising tasks and allocating resources effectively.
- Ensure full compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Working Practices (SWPs).
- Review, maintain, and update SOPs and SWPs to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Promote and maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and customer service in line with internal quality and continuous improvement programmes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and management at all levels.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate recommendations to the line manager.
- Identify training needs, ensure effective induction of new starters, and support ongoing development of team members.
- Train, coach, and share knowledge to ensure tasks are carried out to the required standards.
- Actively promote a strong health and safety culture within the workplace.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience working within a warehouse or operational environment.
- Previous experience managing or leading a team.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in an operational setting.
- Relevant qualifications such as Manual Handling, CILT/NVQs, or similar (desirable).
- Health & Safety and/or First Aid training (desirable).
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
- Good standard of spoken and written English.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
Salary
£16.39 per hour
Working hours
10pm-6am Monday-Friday (35hrs paid per week)
NOTE: This position is offered on a Temporary to Permanent basis.
