Our client based in the London Heathrow area is currently recruiting, due to expansion for a 4 on 4 off Day Shift (6 am - 6 pm), experienced Transport Planner, to join their well-established logistics operation within the air freight sector. This is a key operational role, responsible for coordinating drivers, planning routes, and ensuring time-critical deliveries are executed efficiently. The position offers stability, structured shifts, and long-term career prospects within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, allocate and manage daily transport jobs using a Transport Management System
  • Coordinate vehicle movements and driver schedules
  • Act as the main point of contact for drivers and subcontractors
  • Prepare and manage driver paperwork
  • Handle incoming calls and operational queries
  • Report vehicle defects and escalate where required
  • Support general transport and office operations

Requirements

  • Previous experience within transport planning or logistics
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confident liaising with drivers and internal teams
  • Good IT skills (Outlook and general systems use)
  • Knowledge of UK road networks is advantageous
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure
