Our client has been a trusted leader in the Essential Oil and Flavour Ingredients Industry since the 1900's, based in the South East London region. They are currently recruiting for an Assistant Production Manager to join their Production Team. The company specialises in creating premium natural products that enhance the flavours and fragrances of globally recognized brands. Experience Required For the Assistant Production Manager Role:

  • A proven track record of working in food manufacturing, beneficial to have experience within the use of Essential Oils.
  • Experience in managing staff (10+ direct reports).
  • Ready to step up to a junior managerial role.
  • Experience in managing staff performance, motivation & attendance, including appraisals.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
  • Essential to have experience of planning and participation in BRC, HACCP, and HSE.
  • Involvement within interdepartmental communication and collaboration.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • A logical thinker and pragmatic.
  • Fork Lift Truck experience and ideally holds a valid license.
  • Good range of GCSEs with minimum Grades 5/6 in English Language and Maths.

Daily Responsibilities Required:

  • Ability to distribute workflow into the Production area in a Food Manufacturing Facility.
  • Check WIP and what can and cannot be completed in a day.
  • Be proactive, highlight any issues to the Production Manager and resolve any problems.
  • Ordering Production Consumables.
  • Order plant & equipment (FLTs, pumps, packaging, etc.).
  • Booking transport for UK deliveries.
  • Working closely with the Production Manager to ensure goods are produced in time for dispatch.
  • Liaising with Logistics, Quality Control, and the Internal Stock Department.

  • Holiday Entitlement: 23 Days + Bank Holidays, increasing each year to 30 Days + B/H's.
