A small European Bank is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to manage the compliance function, act as MLRO and Data Protection Officer. Your responsibilities will cover:

  • Maintaining the Compliance Framework and Compliance Monitoring Programme
  • Providing independent compliance and regulatory advice to management and business teams
  • Providing compliance oversight for Treasury activities including wholesale banking, market conduct, and regulatory requirements
  • As MLRO oversee AML, financial crime frameworks, risk assessments, training, reporting and regulatory obligations
  • As DPO support compliance with GDPR requirements
  • Monitoring regulatory developments and support the implementation of any regulatory change initiatives affecting the London office
  • Supporting and developing the Compliance team

Your experience must include:

  • Extensive compliance experience gained within international banking including regulatory risk and financial crime as an SMF 16 and ideally SMF 17
  • Strong knowledge of FCA and PRA regulatory requirements, AML & Financial Crime regulations, UK GDPR and Data Protection Requirements, SMCR and MIFID II, Market Abuse Regulation and EMIR
  • Good understanding of corporate and wholesale banking activities
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise at all levels and with regulators
  • Strong analytical, judgement and problem-solving abilities

This role will be working 5 days a week in the London office for the first 6 months and will then convert to hybrid working 3 days a week in the office and 2 days remotely.
