Prime Personnel Solutions are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Mechanic to join our client in Sheffield. The role involves maintenance, repairs and fault finding across HGVs, DAF Skip Trucks, roll on roll off, Grab vehicles, Tippers, Artic units, Walking floors and company vans.

Duties:

  • Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
  • Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Complete MOT preparation work
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with DVSA standards
  • Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
  • Minimise vehicle downtime and support operational requirements
  • Immediately report any additional work required or vehicle faults identified
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies and health and safety standards
  • Enhance the reputation of the business through professional workmanship and customer service

Permanent Position: Monday - Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday morning 7am-12 noon on a rota

Experience: HGV Mechanic: 2 years. Diagnostic experience.

Licence/Certification: NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent (preferred), HGV Class I or II licence and Driver CPC (preferred)

Salary: Up to £60,000 per year depending on experience
