A Domiciliary Care Assistant provides compassionate, person-centred care to individuals in their own homes. The role supports people to live independently, safely and with dignity by assisting with daily living tasks, companionship and emotional support. This role is ideal for caring, reliable individuals who want to make a meaningful difference in their local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care
- Assist with washing, bathing, showering and personal hygiene
- Support with dressing, grooming and toileting
- Assist with mobility, transfers and use of mobility aids
- Support continence care where required
- Daily Living Support
- Help service users prepare meals and drinks
- Assist with feeding where necessary
- Prompt or administer medication in line with care plans and training
- Support with light household tasks (laundry, cleaning, shopping)
- Emotional & Social Support
- Provide companionship and meaningful conversation
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Support social outings, appointments and activities
- Monitor wellbeing and report concerns
- Health & Safety
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate daily care records and report changes
- Follow safeguarding, infection control and health & safety policies

Person Specification
- Caring, compassionate and patient nature

- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
