About the Role

The Forum School is a specialist 38-week residential and day school for children and young people aged 7-19 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Set within 28 acres in the Dorset countryside, the school offers a unique environment with excellent facilities including a theatre, sports hall, swimming pool, riding areas, climbing wall, and multiple safe play spaces. Students follow a differentiated National Curriculum supported by a proven programme of specialist education, 24-hour care, and a wide range of clinical and therapeutic input.

We are seeking compassionate and resilient Support Workers to provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students access learning, develop independence, and manage behaviours that may challenge. You will work closely within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting non-verbal students, assisting with communication strategies (e.g. PECS/Makaton), and contributing to personalised learning and care plans. The role includes supporting personal and intimate care where required. With small class sizes (typically 6 students supported by a teacher and at least two teaching assistants) and high staffing ratios, you will be able to deliver intensive, individualised support. Each student also has a keyworker to oversee their care, welfare, safety, and development.

Candidates should be patient, adaptable, and confident managing challenging behaviour, with a strong team-focused approach. Experience in SEN/ASD is desirable but not essential as full training and ongoing CPD are provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Work Location: In person
