Overview
Trainee Designer
Location – Colchester Area
Salary – circa 24,000
Are you a recent school/college leaver looking for your first job? Do you have good computer skills? If so, a leading manufacturer of high-quality construction products are looking to recruit bright, motivated candidates to train to be Designers. The ideal candidates will be good with computers and have excellent communication skills. Due to the companies location you will need your own transport.
Duties
- Produce layout drawings and calculations using AutoCAD / Revit / Microsoft Excel.
- Issue drawings with covering letters/emails
- Contact Clients, Architects & Engineers via telephone/email
- Amend drawings and raise adjustments on orders
- Update Database
- Learn and understand the duties required under the Health & Safety at Work Acts and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Full training will be provided
Skills & Experience
- Must have a high level of computer literacy with good working knowledge of a variety of computer packages including such as word, Excel and outlook
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit would be a benefit but training will be given
- Must have good organisational & communication skills with good time management
- Must have a confident and professional telephone manner and good attention to detail
- Construction industry knowledge would be an advantage
- Must be self-motivated, methodical with focus on customer service
- Must have own transport due to location of the company
- Candidates who have studied Construction in the Built Environmentment would have an advantage
