We are currently recruiting for a newly created Tendering Engineer position with an established engineering business based in Ipswich. This is an exciting opportunity to support high-value generator and power generation projects across industrial, infrastructure, marine and defence sectors.
Working as part of the Sales team, you will take ownership of the tendering process, preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders and technical proposals while working closely with Engineering, Procurement and Product teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the tender process for bespoke generator and power generation packages
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings and tender documentation to confirm compliance and identify potential risks
- Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement and Product teams to gather technical information, pricing and lead times
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, pricing schedules and technical proposals in line with company margins
- Manage tender deadlines and support post-tender clarification, negotiation and project handover
- Maintain tender templates, technical data sheets, standard clauses and bid records
- Identify and proactively manage risks throughout the tender process
- Provide regular updates to management on tender progress and opportunities
About You
Previous experience within a tendering, estimating or technical role is essential.
