We are currently recruiting for a Press brake setter/operator to join a well-established manufacturing and engineering company based in Colchester. This is a full-time opportunity offering long-term stability and overtime opportunities. This role would suit someone with 5+ years setting and operating press brakes, confident working from technical drawings and is looking to grow their career within fabrication.
About the role
You will be involved in the manufacture of bespoke metal components across a range of industries. You will be working with materials such as steel and aluminium, using a variety of machinery and hand tools to produce high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating press brakes
- Setting and operating CNC machinery
- Using guillotines and other fabrication machinery
- Fabricating components using hand tools
- Working with steel and aluminium materials
- Reading and working from technical drawings
- Producing bespoke components to specification
- Supporting production targets and deadlines
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator or Press brake setter/operator
- Strong machine operating background
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Experience working with steel and aluminium
- Good attention to detail and quality
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
Desirable (for top salary bracket)
- 5+ years setting and operating press brakes
- Experience using guillotines and fabrication machinery
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
What's On Offer
- Salary circa £16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Full time, permanent position
- Day shifts - Monday to Friday (07:30 - 16:00)
