Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer who enjoys a hands-on role, solving technical problems and working on bespoke machinery? I'm working with a growing engineering manufacturer seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across the UK & Ireland. The role offers a mix of installations, commissioning, servicing and breakdown support, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and customer interaction.
The Role
- Install and commission machinery on customer sites
- Carry out planned servicing and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
- Perform mechanical strip-downs, rebuilds and assembly work
- Support PLC diagnostics and basic electrical fault-finding
- Deliver operator training where required
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately
- Provide remote technical support when required
- Travel throughout the UK & Ireland, including overnight stays
About You
- Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer or Technical Service Engineer role
- A background in industrial machinery, packaging, automation or similar equipment
- Strong mechanical engineering skills
- Electrical fault-finding experience
- Exposure to PLC systems
- Good customer-facing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable
- HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification
- Welding experience
Package
- £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates
