About the Role
Organised and proactive
Production Planning Coordinator to join large manufacturing team based in Clacton-on-Sea.
This is a pivotal role responsible for coordinating production schedules, material availability and workload priorities to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and production operates efficiently.
Working closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse and Sales teams, you'll ensure production plans are realistic, resources are available when needed and any risks to delivery are identified and resolved quickly.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and communicate production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, stock levels and production capacity.
- Coordinate workflow across production departments to ensure priorities are managed effectively and deadlines are achieved.
- Monitor material availability, work in progress and finished goods to identify shortages, delays and capacity constraints.
- Work closely with Purchasing and Stores to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production.
- Liaise with Production, Engineering, Quality and Sales teams to communicate schedule changes and resolve planning issues.
- Use MRP/ERP systems to manage production planning, release work orders and maintain accurate planning data.
- Track production performance against plan, highlighting risks and supporting corrective actions where required.
- Produce planning reports, schedule updates and performance information for management.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, production flow and operational efficiency.
- Ensure planning activities support quality, health & safety, customer service and cost objectives
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a Production Planning, Production Coordination, Manufacturing Administration, Supply Chain or similar operational role.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, capacity planning and material requirements.
- Experience using MRP, ERP or production planning systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working across multiple departments.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to analyse information, identify risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach.
- Qualification in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Experience within abusy manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or Inventory Control principles.
- Experience producing production reports, KPIs or capacity planning reports
