A leading developer and manufacturer of navigation and surveillance systems is seeking a Production Engineer to optimise and support electromechanical production processes. This role is key in New Product Introduction (NPI), process engineering, and continuous improvement for high-tech manufacturing.

Duties

  • Act as the primary liaison between Design, R&D, and Manufacturing, supporting NPI and product industrialisation.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions, operating procedures, and test specifications.
  • Support production targets through process optimisation, tooling management, and technical support.
  • Lead pilot builds, process validation, and transition to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Specify, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Support quality assurance, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and inspection methods.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks, improve productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Train and support production operators and technicians on manufacturing best practices and quality standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
  • Experience with electromechanical assemblies: motors, sensors, actuators, wiring, and PCB assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools, FMEA, SPC, 8D, and Ishikawa analysis.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Exposure to high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Must hold a UK passport.
