Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week (07:00-15:30, early finish on Friday)

We are looking for a Quality Inspector for the Precision Engineering department of a manufacturing firm. You will be entrusted with the creation and implementation of the inspection department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to step up in their career!

The company prides itself on having the best technology to produce top quality, highly durable products, with a high proportion of manufacturing carried out in-house.

Ideally, you will have previously worked as a machinist and are now looking for your first role off the tools. Further training on quality processes and standards will be provided.

Inspector duties:

  • Flag any rejects/rework data by activity, process, department, individual etc.
  • Manage process improvements through liaison with all departments.
  • Log and monitor quality issues.
  • Monitor and expedite design improvements with the Drawing Office.
  • Monitor and improve jigs used in the manufacturing build process.
  • Involved in establishing quality standards for production of new products.
  • Improve and implement process changes to ensure repetitive mistakes are minimized.
  • Perform measurements of all parts requiring checks.
  • Maintain gauge calibration status within the organisation.
  • Partake in audits when required and report any findings to your supervisor.

Experience required:

  • Experience with inspection of machined parts.
  • Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems.
  • Industry experience within a manufacturing or engineering sector is required.
  • Reading engineering drawings.
  • Ensuring parts are signed off to company standards.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team with the ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
