A client of ours in the Basildon area are recruiting an Import Customs Clerk to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm and paying £28,000 – £30,000 per annum depending on experience. Key Duties include but are not limited to: Completing day-to-day Customs Clearing and entries for all air, sea and road freight shipments, including EADs & T1s. Maintain Data input accuracy. Deal with customer enquiries providing accurate advice and estimates when required. Communicate with external organisations e.g. HMRC, Port Authorities, Shipping Lines, Hauliers etc. Obtain necessary Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff Headings. Obtain payments from customers in line with company policy. Calculating Duty / VAT cost for each consignment Processing Import/Export declarations Dealing with general enquiries from importers / exporters, Internal & external sources concerning all areas, relating to Customs Procedures, Tariff Classifications, Duty Rates and any other documentation requirements Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures Work with different departments in multiple locations to prepare a complete list of Jobs Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Import Customs Clerk position: Minimum 2 years Customs experience essential within the Logistics distribution and supply chain industry Experience with HMRC customs declarations Experience of dealing with T1\’s, POA, EAD, Transit documents Attention to detail is extremely important to ensure the business is compliant and passes HMRC audits, including risk identification and mitigation Excellent communication skills Experience of checking and processing all relevant documentation for the shipments Understanding of different customs procedures Experience of Destin8, Descarte & CNS Systems If you feel like you meet the above criteria & would like to be considered for this Import Customs Clerk position, please apply with your CV and contact Abi at Prime Appointments for a confidential chat. #officejobs
