Generator Technician – Critical Power Division Location: Ipswich Salary: £37,000 – £40,000 + Benefits We are recruiting for a skilled Diesel Generator Technician to join the Critical Power Division of a well-established engineering business based in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy and growing team, supporting a wide range of customers across the South and East of England. The Role As a Generator Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel generators and associated equipment. You will work on planned maintenance, attend breakdowns, and support new installations, ensuring clients receive the highest standards of service. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain, and repair diesel generator sets and associated equipment Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis, and load bank testing Support the installation and commissioning of diesel generators Attend customer breakdowns and provide emergency cover on a rota basis Work both in the field (75%) and in the workshop (25%) as required Use diagnostic software and tools to ensure high-quality service delivery Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with standardsCandidate Requirements Proven experience with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of diesel generators Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills Knowledge of common generator control systems (advantageous) Computer literate with clear written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team Full UK driving licence requiredBenefits Fully expensed company service van, laptop, and mobile phone Paid overtime and occasional weekend work available Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Company pension scheme Life assurance and sick pay 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 25 with length of service Free on-site parking Supportive team environment with career development opportunitiesIf you feel like you meet the above criteria & would like to be considered for this Generator Technician position, please apply with your CV and contact Lauren at Prime Appointments for a confidential chat. #Tier1
