A family run manufacturing company on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex are currently recruiting for a fitter to join their expanding team.
This is a temporary to permanent position, looking to pay between 13 – 15.50 per hour.
Overview:
As a fitter, you will be involved in transforming shipping containers, trailers & old vans into fully functioning mobile units.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a fitter you will be required to install interior fixtures such as counters, doors, windows, interior panels plus much more
- Read from technical drawings
- Using hand & power tools daily, such as drills, saws, grinders plus much more
- Helping with basic plumbing & electrics
- You will work closely with staff internally to fit out bespoke interiors to a high standard
- Help with problem solving in the workshop
- Follow company health & safety policies as and when required
Candidate requirements:
- Background in fitting & fabrication (a joiner, cabinet maker or vehicle fitter
- The ideal applicant will be confident in installing mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
- Ability to read from technical drawings
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent team player and communication skills
- Due to the location of the site, the person will have their own transport
- Beneficial – Training or qualification in bench fitting, joinery, metal fabrication or related trades
Working Hours:
- 07:30-16:30 Monday – Thursday and a 13:30 finish on Fridays!
