Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer with over 80 years of experience producing bespoke components for industries including aerospace, defence, rail, marine and heavy engineering.
They are looking for a hands‑on
Manufacturing Manager to join their leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys being on the factory floor, leading by example and driving continuous improvement.
The Role
Working closely with the Managing Director and Factory Supervisor, you’ll take responsibility for the engineering function, production tooling, manufacturing processes and Health & Safety, while supporting the day‑to‑day running of the factory.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, manufacture and maintain production tooling.
- Develop manufacturing methods for bespoke products.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Support production and identify improvements to quality, efficiency and productivity.
- Lead and develop the production team.
- Manage holidays, performance reviews and day‑to‑day people management.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance across the factory.
- Support continuous improvement and business growth.
About You
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship would be highly beneficial.
- Experience within precision engineering or manufacturing is essential.
- A strong background in toolmaking and production tooling is required.
- Hands‑on machining and workshop experience preferable.
- Must have an excellent understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Strong problem‑solving, organisational and communication skills.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.

- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- 28 days' holiday, rising to 34 days with service (including bank holidays).
