An established aerospace engineering manufacturer in Southend-on-Sea is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Manager to lead their Quality and Inspection function. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident aerospace Quality professional who enjoys autonomy, leadership responsibility and driving standards within a precision manufacturing environment. If you have strong AS9100 knowledge, FAIR experience and have led inspection teams, this role offers real ownership and influence.

What's on Offer

  • Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Thursday working (37 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining the AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Leading and developing the Inspection team
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all quality matters
  • Creating and approving FAIR / LAIR documentation
  • Overseeing calibration, testing and qualification processes
  • Planning and conducting internal and external audits to ISO9100 / AS9100 standards
  • Acting as Approved Signatory for release and inspection processes
  • Managing VisualFAIR software training and compliance
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting management review meetings and business objectives

What We're Looking For

  • Proven aerospace sector experience (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9100 / AS9100
  • First Article Inspection experience (FAIR / LAIR)
  • Experience managing or supervising an inspection/quality team
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Qualified to conduct internal and external audits
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
