We are recruiting a Forklift Driver to become a key player in a busy food manufacturing business, based in Maldon. If you are looking for a long-term role with potential of progression and a permanent role this could be the position for you. This role will start as a temporary contract but has the potential to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Please note: a full UK driving licence and your own transport are essential due to the site location. An in-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence is also essential.
Working hours: Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours per week (rotating shifts) - hours may vary depending on workload:
- Week 1: 05:45 - 14:00
- Week 2: 07:30 - 15:45
- Week 3: 09:00 - 17:30
- Week 4: 14:00 - 22:15
Pay: £14.50ph (rising to £15ph once a permanent member of staff)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving a counterbalance forklift safely and confidently
- Picking orders for dispatch
- Carrying out vehicle checks before loading
- Loading vehicles carefully to avoid damage
- Making sure paperwork is correct and complete
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards
What we’re looking for:
- A valid counterbalance forklift licence
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
- At least a year’s experience working within a logistics distribution and supply chain environment
- At least 1 year’s experience on a counterbalance forklift
- FMCG or high-speed manufacturing experience (ideal, not essential)
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and progress
- Knowledge of HACCP, ISO, or COSHH is a bonus
