Prime Appointments have an exciting new role! We are currently recruiting on behalf of a market leader in their field based in Colchester, Essex. We are looking for a Stores Operative who has previous experience as a Stores Operative or in a similar role. This is a perfect opportunity to join a company on a permanent basis, who can also offer ongoing training and progression.
Duties of the Stores Operative will include:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods for quantity and quality, ensuring they meet company standards.
- Organise and store items in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and conduct regular inventory counts.
- Prepare orders for distribution, including picking, packing, and labelling items.
- Assist with deliveries and logistics, coordinating with transport services as needed.
- Keep the storage area clean, safe, and organised, complying with health and safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory shortages to management.
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking and managing inventory.
- Careful recording of serial numbers.
- Issuing and booking in production orders with our MRP system.
The ideal Stores Operative applicant:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or certifications in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Store Person or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and management.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
Pay, Hours & Benefits:
- 25 days plus bank holiday.
- 37 hours per week flextime (core hours 8am - 4:45pm Mon-Thur, 8am-1pm Fri).
- Matched pension contributions (up to 6%).
