We are currently recruiting for a Fabricator to join a well‑established architectural and metalwork manufacturing company based in Colchester. This is a full‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent opportunity offering long‑term stability, and the chance to work on bespoke fabrication projects across a variety of industries. This role would suit an experienced Fabricator with a strong workshop background who enjoys variety.

About the role:

  • Working within a busy fabrication workshop, you will be responsible for manufacturing bespoke metal products.
  • The role involves working with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel, carrying out fabrication duties alongside machine setting and operation.
  • This is a hands‑on role suited to a skilled Fabricator who is confident working with different materials and production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welding aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Laser setting and operation
  • Turret punch setting and operation
  • Press brake setting and operation
  • Reading and working from technical drawings
  • Fabricating bespoke architectural metalwork components
  • Using hand and power tools within the workshop

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Fabricator or Welder Fabricator
  • Experience working with aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience operating fabrication machinery
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good fabrication knowledge

Desirable (for top salary bracket):

  • Previous laser, turret punch experience
  • Press brake setting and operating experience
  • Experience within architectural or bespoke metalwork environments
