As the business continues to develop its R&D capability, we are looking for an R&D Project Coordinator to join the Project Management function and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of multidisciplinary R&D projects.
The Role
The R&D Project Coordinator will be central to the planning, coordination and administration of projects across the R&D organisation. Working closely with project teams and R&D Leadership, you will coordinate project timelines, milestones, meetings, actions and documentation, while ensuring risks, dependencies and progress are clearly communicated. Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines and milestones, ensuring project information is kept accurate and up to date.
- Prepare project reports for R&D Leadership, highlighting risks, dependencies, delays and areas requiring escalation.
- Support adherence to agreed project management methods, processes and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate project documentation and ensure reviews, records and supporting information are completed and maintained.
- Organise and lead project meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, assigning actions and tracking progress through to completion.
- Set up new R&D projects within the relevant systems and ensure project information is accurately recorded.
- Monitor project actions and deadlines, proactively following up with stakeholders where required.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary R&D teams to maintain clarity around project ownership, priorities and delivery dates.
- Identify potential project roadblocks and proactively support the team in resolving them.
About You
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and confident working with a wide range of people. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, working to deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You should be someone who takes ownership, communicates effectively and is willing to proactively seek out ways to support the wider R&D team.
You will need:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to establish priorities and manage competing workloads.
- Good judgement, self-motivation and perseverance.
- The ability to understand and balance different viewpoints and priorities.
- Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to identify work that needs to be done and take ownership of it.
- A high degree of computer literacy.
- The ability to set expectations and consistently deliver against them.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Previous experience working in a project-based environment.
- Experience working within a busy engineering environment.
- Experience using Smartsheet and/or Teamwork.
- Previous experience supporting engineering, manufacturing or R&D projects.
