Prime Appointments are recruiting for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join a growing business in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career, with genuine progression opportunities available.
This is a working supervisor position, so we're looking for someone who enjoys being out on the warehouse floor, leading by example and supporting the day-to-day operation.
To be considered:
- Previous warehouse supervisory or management experience
- A strong hands-on warehouse background
- Reach and/or Counterbalance FLT experience
- Experience supervising warehouse operatives and driving productivity
Duties will include:
- Supervising a team of warehouse operatives and supporting the Warehouse Manager
- Leading from the front and remaining operational on the warehouse floor
- Coordinating goods in, stock storage and dispatch activities
- Operating Reach and Counterbalance forklifts as required
- Ensuring productivity and service levels are maintained
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety across the warehouse
- Liaising with couriers and supporting outbound deliveries
- Assisting with stock control and general warehouse administration
- Covering the Warehouse Manager's responsibilities when required
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader or Senior Warehouse Operative
- Good understanding of warehouse operations, goods in and dispatch processes
- Knowledge of Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain processes
- The ability to motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- FLT licences would be advantageous, although refreshers can be provided if required
- Experience within a 3PL or fast-moving warehouse environment would be beneficial
