An experienced, practical Quality Manager is needed for a specialist manufacturing business. You will take ownership of quality standards across the business, working with production, technical and operations teams to identify issues, investigate root causes, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve quality standards, procedures and inspection methods across the business
  • Investigate non-conformances, customer concerns and product defects, and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and relevant certification requirements, including audit preparation
  • Monitor and report quality costs (scrap, rework, returns, remedial works)
  • Coach operators and team leaders on quality standards and inspection requirements
  • Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and contractors on quality matters

About You

  • This role would suit an established Quality Manager, or a quality professional ready to take their next step up.
  • Experience in quality, inspection, compliance or continuous improvement
  • Manufacturing background preferred (joinery, woodworking or construction products a plus)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001, auditing or QMS advantageous; Lean/Six Sigma a bonus
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Comfortable in a factory environment, with flexibility to visit customer sites
